Well Met on CastleMorton Common

4/6/2019

Abundant Dog Rose & Buttercup

Shield the fragile Orchid

Hiding in pale violet amongst the vivid greens

Foxglove and clover,

Ferns all unfurling, masses of

Honeysuckle, shelter beneath the Cracking Willow

The soft low of cattle, notes of Blackbirds that ring,

The cry of the Chiff -Chaff,

Call to my senses and

Make my heart sing

Castlemorton Common, once

Playground of Kings

Now, in Summer Glory, Ragged Robin’s Pink Stars,  the rustle of wings, wild vetch,

sneezewort and

blue pimpernel a background of brambles and blue sky, scudding with clouds that

all swirl and swell.

Behind me, I sense a silence,

I turn around to find

A lady with camera held in her hand.

Surrounded by flowers, trees and great space,

We, both, searching out Orchids and looking for

Grace, in wild places,

Where Nature abounds.

We stop and we chat like any two creatures

meeting in Nature amongst Nature’s sounds

We stop and we chat , shared wonders surround us

We, In each other, a certain peace found

Well met Susie, I wish your life well

The less trodden places

Are  where our hearts dwell .

Hi Cakraslot— thank you for your kind comments– please do share my blog around!! I have also encapsulated some of the poems into a small book found on Amazon— Reflections from the Water Mirror and Beyond– by Xicca Frances Stephens and hopefully will be encapsulating more of them into a follow-up volume or two-in due time— the first will be called Reflections from Malvern Hills and Wells and then Reflections from the Haven. All are (or will be) wonderful coffee table books with photographs for every poem ans are for sale at the cheapest price that Amazon will let me set!!!— I also have another book with a 65 verse poem for the first section of the book — it is about Water– the book is called ‘Tears of Isis-World of Water. I would like the opportunity to perform this poem as it is incredibly moving. I have an idea of compiling a video backdrop for the performance of the poem but have not got around to that yet— the performance of the poem takes apx. one and a half hours– so it is not something that could be undertaken at a normal poetry sharing !!LOL|!!Any how thank you– I just found your comment as I am about to upload my latest poem– hopefully if you are following the pages now you will get an information that a new poem has been posted— Xau for now Xicca
